Q&A Community Rules

1. Engage with others in a constructive way

Assume everyone on Quimbee is here to make the platform a great resource, and that the Quimbee community will represent diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and opinions. It is OK to disagree, but please be civil, respectful, and considerate to other posters. Posts that have the potential to make the experience of using Quimbee unpleasant or uncomfortable for users may be removed.

2. Use your real name

Your Quimbee profile must use your actual, legal name. Commonly used nicknames are permitted (for instance, “Matt” for “Matthew”).

3. Use a proper profile picture

Your profile picture must not include anything that is illegal, pornographic, or sexually suggestive. Your profile picture also may not impersonate an individual or entity in a misleading or deceptive manner.

4. No deceptive activity

Your Quimbee profile must use accurate and truthful credentials. Do not use Quimbee to impersonate another person, act as another entity or on another entity’s behalf without authorization, or create multiple accounts.

5. No harassment or bullying

Personal attacks, true threats, harassment, and abusive behavior directed toward others are prohibited. Repeated and unwanted contact constitutes a form of harassment and, therefore, is prohibited. Content must not make threats against others or advocate violence, including self-harm.

6. Uphold relevant honor codes

Please don’t publish anything that violates your school or organization's honor code. You are solely responsible for the content you publish, and that content may be seen and shared by others. You understand that if you publish something that violates your school or organization’s honor code, Quimbee bears no responsibility should you be disciplined for academic dishonesty or other violations.

7. Do not violate intellectual property laws

Please don't publish anything you don't have permission to share. This includes other people's articles, things that you've found on the Internet, or content that belongs to your employer or professor but not you. Most content on the Internet belongs to someone, and unless you have clear permission from the owner to share it, you shouldn't include it in your posts. You can republish something that you have published somewhere else, as long as it is original content that you own the rights to.

8. No advocating of harmful actions

Posts that advocate harmful actions (including child abuse, premeditated murder including genocide, and suicide) are not permitted.

9. No solicitation or promotion of business

Self-promotion is permitted only as part of a sincere, helpful, and direct answer to the question. Otherwise it is considered spam.

10. Posts must be comprehensible

All posts must be written in English, with the exception of legal terms. Any post that is not clearly written or cannot clearly be understood is subject to deletion.

11. Properly report issues

If you see something on Quimbee Q&A, newsfeed, or class pages that you believe is against Quimbee guidelines or policies, please report it to us by selecting “Report this post” on the menu to the right of the post.

12. Do not construe any content on Quimbee as legal advice

When reading any user content on Quimbee Q&A (or anywhere else on Quimbee), be mindful that Quimbee is designed to facilitate the sharing of legal information for purposes of class and exam preparation. Neither the questions posed nor the answers should be construed to constitute legal advice, nor do they create an attorney-client relationship.

Do not use Quimbee Q&A, newsfeed, or class pages to post or attract spam. Spam constitutes any content reasonably and foreseeably likely to detract from or worsen the experience of someone visiting Quimbee's website. 14. No malicious or illegal activity

Do not use Quimbee Q&A, newsfeed, or class pages to engage in unlawful activity or to promote illegal acts.

15. Abide by all other Quimbee policies

Follow Quimbee’s other policies—including our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy—which Quimbee may add or change from time to time. Upvotes do not validate an answer that does not comply with policies; posts with many upvotes may be removed if they are not in accordance with the policies described above.
