Lead Web Developer
Diego Algorta is Quimbee’s lead web developer. Diego joined Quimbee in 2014 with the goal of taking the company to the next level. Diego took ownership of advising Quimbee’s founder and CEO, Matt Sellers, about the technical aspects of the platform, as well as growing and leading a technical team to support the business.
Diego is a seasoned software developer with experience in different platforms, methodologies, and industries at both start-ups and big corporations. Diego started coding when he was a kid in the ‘80s and never stopped. After a few years working as a professor at his alma mater, Diego began designing and developing the first sports-betting platform in his country, Uruguay. Diego moved on to work remotely mostly for U.S.-based start-ups. Diego became CEO of a locally renowned boutique consultancy shop called Cubox Labs, which joined Neo, an international Lean Startup focused consultancy. There, Diego continued leading the Latin American office as the managing director.
In his pursuit of growing the regional Ruby programming-language community, Diego became one of the founders and original leaders of the local and RubySur communities. Diego also co-organized the RubyConf Uruguay for several years, with participation of recognized speakers from all over the world.
