Real essay questions. Real writing experience.
Quimbee Bar Review+ uses official essay questions from past bar exam administrations to help you develop the essential writing skills needed to pass the Multistate Essay Examination (MEE).
Here’s how you’ll practice with real MEE questions

Put your writing to the test
The MEE consists of six 30-minute questions. The exam’s purpose is to assess your ability to communicate effectively in legal writing. Comprising 30% of your total Uniform Bar Examination score, the MEE can seem daunting. The good news? The MEE is the part of the bar exam that most closely resembles standard law school exams. Between the countless law school exams you’ve taken and the real essays from past bar exams featured throughout Quimbee Bar Review+, you’ll have all the tools and knowledge you need to confidently prepare. Although bar examinees in California and Florida will not prepare for the MEE, they’ll encounter real essays, attorney grading, and additional state-specific bar exam materials.

Receive personalized feedback from an attorney
An extra set of eyes is invaluable. In addition to reviewing your own essays, you'll have the opportunity to submit an unlimited number of practice essays for grading, including personalized feedback from a dedicated attorney grader. After you submit your essay, your attorney grader will review the essay and determine whether you’ve spotted the fact pattern’s legal issues, distinguished between relevant and irrelevant material, analyzed the applicable legal issues, and provided a reasonable solution to the issues at hand.

Improve your writing through practice-based workshops
Walking start to finish through real essays from past bar exams allows you to get practice analyzing a fact pattern, recalling and applying rules, and organizing legal analysis. During each MEE Writing Workshop, we’ll review handouts and accompanying videos. Together, we’ll go over the task memo, outline our response, and write an essay answer that will earn a high score. You’ll finish each workshop by evaluating a model answer and watching a featured video that walks you through the answer highlights. Once you understand the components of a winning answer, you can reflect on your own answer and take steps that may be necessary to improve on your next practice essay.

Self-assess your practice essays
As you work your way through Quimbee Bar Review+, you’ll encounter thoughtfully placed essay tasks that will help you practice forming clear, complete, concise answers. After finishing an essay task, you’ll be able to download our official grading rubric written by an experienced subject-matter expert who understands how essays are graded by bar examiners. You'll also have the chance to review a model answer (or a tailored score sheet for Florida) that you can compare your answer to.
