What is the Puerto Rico bar exam?

Puerto Rico has its own bar exam known as the general revalidation examination. Administered by the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, the exam tests examinees’ knowledge of the laws of Puerto Rico. Examinees must pass the general revalidation examination to demonstrate that they possess the minimum skills necessary to practice law in Puerto Rico. The exam is administered in Spanish, but applicants can answer the questions in Spanish or English.

What is the Puerto Rico bar exam format?

The general revalidation exam is a 2-day exam that includes 184 multiple-choice exercises and 8 essay or discussion questions. On the first day, multiple-choice exercises are administered. On the second day, discussion questions are administered.
