Pan American Fire & Casualty Co. v. Revere
United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana
188 F.Supp. 474 (E.D. La. 1960)
A truck collided with a school bus carrying children, killing the bus driver and three children and injuring 23 others. Various parties started to bring multiple actions against the truck’s insurer, Pan American Fire & Casualty Co. (Pan American) (plaintiff), so Pan American instituted an interpleader action seeking to combine all of the victims into one proceeding. Pan American deposited a $100,000 bond, the maximum amount of its policy, with the court.
