Don Luther was formerly an Import Specialist for U.S. Customs in Seattle, and a Program Officer at Customs Headquarters where he provided nationwide technical and policy guidance to Customs officers and members of the trade community, largely focusing on modernization efforts such as the Entry Revision Project and the ACS Reconciliation Prototype. Mr. Luther attended the George Washington University Law School before joining the private sector and previously worked in the international trade department of a large multinational law firm. He is also the founder of the customs consulting group 19 CFR Trade Consulting, LLC, and is a licensed customs broker.
Mr. Luther has lectured extensively on customs matters before numerous organizations including the District of Columbia Bar, Western Maquiladora Trade Association, Joint Industry Group, National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America, American Bar Association, Customs and International Trade Bar Association, American Association of Exporters and Importers, International Compliance Professionals Association, and Western Cargo Conference, among others. He also serves on the Trade Support Network, an industry advisory group created by U.S. Customs.
