Definition

A provision of the Restatement directing courts to make choice-of-law determinations by following state statutory guidance if therein and, if not, to consider various factors including the needs of cross-jurisdictional systems; the relevant policies of the forum and other interested jurisdictions; the parties’ justified expectations; policies underlying the field of law at issue; principles of certainty, uniformity, and predictability; and judicial ease in determining and applying the chosen law.
