Rule 803(5) of the Federal Rules of Evidence

Definition

Provides that when a witness cannot recall something on a past recorded document, the document may be read into evidence if it was made or adopted by the witness at a time when the witness could recollect the event, and the witness states that the record was accurate when he made it.
