Peter Carr is Member In Charge of the Boston Office of Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott and sits on the firm’s Board of Directors.
Peter is a seasoned business litigator who appears regularly before federal and state courts, administrative agencies, and arbitral panels. Peter’s substantial trial experience crosses a wide range of topics and industries. Peter has also argued appeals before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, Massachusetts Appeals Court, Rhode Island Supreme Court, and First Circuit Court of Appeals.
In addition to his active litigation practice, Peter represents educational institutions as outside counsel. Peter counsels with respect to policies, procedures, strategies, and best practices around operations and governance that promote positive working and learning environments while limiting legal exposure. Peter also routinely conducts or advises on internal complaint investigations. Peter works collaboratively with boards and school leadership to understand the operations, mission, and culture so that he can assist with achieving goals in the manner that best meets the needs of the program. Ongoing interaction with administration allows Peter to track trends and patterns and understand the nuances specific to educational institutions.
