Best Mode Requirement
Definition
[35 U.S.C. § 112(a)] The requirement that a written patent specification set forth the best mode contemplated by the inventor of carrying out the claimed invention. However, the America Invents Act eliminated noncompliance with the best-mode requirement as an invalidity defense [AIA 35 U.S.C. § 282(b)(3)(A)].
