Clarification

Clarification

Definition

Limited exchanges between the government and contractors who have submitted proposals in response to the government’s request for proposals (RFP). Clarifications can solicit additional information to correct errors to clarify aspects of the proposal but cannot be used to revise or negotiate the terms of the proposal. Clarifications are distinct from discussions, which are part of a formal contract negotiation process, and are often employed when the government intends to select a contractor based on proposals alone.
