Divorce Nisi

Definition

A mandatory waiting period between granting of the divorce and entry of the final divorce judgment, applicable only in some states. In the nisi period, the divorcing spouses are still married and, if they choose to reconcile before the entry of the final judgment, the divorce would be dismissed.
