A continuing fiduciary duty an attorney owes to a client to keep all information relating to the representation of the client confidential. The duty to maintain the confidentiality of information continues even after the representation has terminated. Disclosure may be made only if the client consents, disclosure is necessary for the attorney to carry out the representation, or disclosure is permitted by an exception to the duty of confidentiality.
