Fed. R. Civ. P. 12(e)

Definition

A rule of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure allowing a party, prior to filing a responsive pleading, to move the court to require an adverse party to restate with greater specificity a portion of its pleading that is currently too vague or ambiguous for the movant to respond to.
