Insured Status

Definition

A prerequisite for entitlement to old-age, survivors, and disability insurance (OASDI) benefits under the Social Security Act, which to meet a wage earner must have at least 20 quarters of coverage in the 40-quarter period in which the wage earner retired, died, or became disabled.
