Definition

Federal statute, 18 U.S. Code § 2261A, enacted in 1996 as part of the Violence Against Women Act, that criminalizes using the mail, an interactive computer service, or another facility of interstate or foreign commerce with the intent to harass or intimidate a victim in another state, and causing the victim or the victim’s family emotional distress or fear of injury or death.
