Last-Employer Rule

Definition

A workers’-compensation rule for gradual occupational injuries or diseases caused by hazardous exposures under which the employer for whom the employee worked during the last exposure that was a substantial contributing factor the employee’s injury or disease is liable for workers’-compensation benefits.
