Judicial order named after Mareva Compania Naviera S.A. v. International Bulkcarriesr S.A., 2. Lloyd’s Rep. 509 (1975), that allows a plaintiff to freeze a defendant’s assets pending the outcome of litigation so that the defendant cannot transfer property beyond the court’s jurisdiction to avoid a judgment.
