Model Rule of Professional Conduct 1.5(c)

Definition

The ethical rule that permits a legal fee to be contingent on a matter’s outcome but prohibits contingent fees for representing defendants in criminal cases and legal fees that are contingent upon securing a divorce or the amount of alimony or support or the property settlement in domestic-relations cases.
