Safe Harbour for Exploited Children Act

Definition

A New York statute that defines 16- and 17-year-old children charged with prostitution-related crimes as sexually exploited children. Under the Safe Harbour Act, prostitution charges against children can be dismissed and the children can be instead referred to Family Court for rehabilitation.
