Definition

Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Rule 2111, which requires a broker to have a reasonable basis to believe that a recommended securities transaction or investment strategy is suitable for the customer. The rule imposes three main suitability obligations on brokers: reasonable-basis suitability, customer-specific suitability, and quantitative suitability.
