Definition

A standard clause in government contracts, the suspension of work clause (1) allows the government to delay the contract work for its convenience; and (2) entitles the contractor for an equitable adjustment for increased performance costs if the government’s conduct causes unreasonable delays. This clause is the successor to the prior Stop Work Clause.
