The Protect America Act (PAA)

Definition

, 50 U.S.C. §§ 1805a-c, A temporary set of amendments to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act that authorized the government to compel communications service providers to assist it in conducting warrantless searches to gather foreign intelligence when the surveillance targeted individuals reasonably believed to be outside of the United States.
