Treaty Exception

Definition

Exception of the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act (FSIA) codified in the introductory language of 28 U.S.C. § 1604, providing that foreign sovereign immunity may be based on an international agreement to which the United States was a party when the FSIA was enacted.
