Facts
The plaintiffs were minor children aged two to eight who brought claims through their guardians against their mothers (defendants) for failure to perform their parental duties and for general child neglect. The injuries claimed were emotional and psychological only. There were no statutory or common law civil actions for such injuries. The trial court sustained the defendants’ demurrer to the complaints. The plaintiffs appealed.
