Facts
Cassino (plaintiff) sued Reichhold Chemicals, Inc. (Reichhold) (defendant), alleging he was terminated because of his age in violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), 29 U.S.C. § 621 et seq. A jury ruled in Cassino’s favor and awarded him $81,000 in back pay and $150,000 in front pay. Reichhold appealed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
