Pennsylvania Supreme Court
506 Pa. 169 (1984)

Facts
A woman had cashed a check and placed the money in her purse, which was over her arm. She heard a person running behind her and then someone grabbed the purse from her arm. She saw Brown (defendant) running away with her purse and began screaming. Brown was charged and convicted of robbery in the third degree. Brown appealed, asserting that the evidence did not establish the required element of force for the crime of robbery.
