Corso v. Crawford Dog and Cat Hospital, Inc.
New York Civil Court
97 Misc. 2d 530, 415 N.Y.S.2d 182 (1979)
- Written by Sean Carroll, JD
Facts
Kay Corso (plaintiff) brought her beloved 15-year-old dog to the Crawford Dog and Cat Hospital, Inc. (defendant) to be euthanized. The parties agreed that Crawford would turn the dog’s remains over to a company that arranged for pet funerals. Corso planned a full funeral for the dog, including a headstone and a casket. Crawford did not correctly dispose of the dog’s body, and a casket containing a dead cat was sent to Corso. Corso brought a tort action against Crawford.
