Creasy v. State
Indiana Supreme Court
518 N.E.2d 785 (1988)
- Written by Eric Miller, JD
Facts
Kevin Creasy (defendant) entered a sorority house through an unlocked back door. An occupant of the house saw Creasy and called the police, who found Creasy in the basement. Creasy was holding a shirt that he had taken from the sorority house’s laundry room. Creasy was also in possession of strings cut from an apron in an adjacent storeroom. Creasy was convicted of burglary and sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment. Creasy appealed, asserting that the evidence against him was not sufficient to support a conviction. The Indiana Supreme Court granted certiorari.
