Facts
The Kingdom of Belgium (defendant) passed a law that prohibited face coverings. Six months later, Fouzia Dakir (plaintiff), a Muslim Belgian national who chose to wear a niqab (a veil covering all of the head except for the eyes), brought a lawsuit asserting that the law violated the European Convention on Human Rights.
