Denney v. Reppert
Court of Appeals of Kentucky
432 S.W.2d 647 (1968)
- Written by Sean Carroll, JD
Facts
Three bank robbers robbed a bank and the bank advertised a $500 reward for the arrest of each bank robber. The robbers were apprehended by police officers Garret Godby, Johnny Simms, and Tilford Reppert (defendants) with the help of information from bank employees Murrell Denney, Joyce Buis, Rebecca McCollum, and Jewell Snyder (defendants). Godby and Simms were officers in Pulaski County, where the arrest and recovery of the money took place. Reppert was an officer in Rockcastle County. The officers and employees all claimed to be entitled to the reward and the bank asked the Pulaski Circuit Court to make a determination. The Pulaski Circuit Court found that Reppert was the only claimant entitled to the reward.
