Ducko v. Chrysler Motors Corp.
Superior Court of Pennsylvania
639 A.2d 1204 (1994)
- Written by Sean Carroll, JD
Facts
Wilma Ducko (plaintiff) bought a new car manufactured by Chrysler Motors Corporation (Chrysler) (defendant). Approximately two months after purchase, Ducko was driving the car under normal conditions when the car spontaneously veered to the left and the steering and brakes locked. The car crashed, causing Ducko injury. Ducko brought a manufacturing-defect suit against Chrysler on a strict-liability theory. Ducko’s expert witness could not find any particular defect in the car. The trial court granted Chrysler summary judgment. Ducko appealed.
