Facts
George (plaintiff) was a creditor of the husband of E. S. Ransom (defendant). George sought a court order to obtain dividends from Ransom’s stocks. Ransom had bought the stocks with money that was considered her separate property. The trial court denied the order and dismissed the proceedings, holding that the dividends were considered Ransom’s separate property. George appealed to the Supreme Court of California.
