A strike of railroad workers (strikers) (defendants) began on July 1, 1922. The Great Northern Railway (railway) (plaintiff) filed for, and was granted, a temporary restraining order followed by a preliminary injunction against the strikers in the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota.
