Greer v. Richardson Independent School District
United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit
472 F. App’x 287 (2012)

- Written by Darius Dehghan, JD
Facts
Leslie Greer (plaintiff) was a wheelchair user who attended a football game at a stadium owned by the Richardson Independent School District (school district) (defendant). The general seating area in the stadium was not accessible to wheelchair users. But the school district provided accessible seating, which was located either immediately adjacent to or in front of the general seating area. Greer watched the football game from the accessible seating area. Subsequently, Greer brought suit, contending that the school district violated the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The district court granted summary judgment in favor of the school district. Greer appealed.
