Facts
Mrs. Guevin was boarding an electric car owned and operated by Manchester Street Railway (Manchester) (defendant). The fender of the electric car stuck out, and she tripped on it and was injured. Mrs. Guevin sued Manchester. A verdict was entered in favor of Manchester. Mr. Guevin (plaintiff), Mrs. Guevin’s husband, then sued Manchester for loss of Mrs. Guevin’s services and society. A verdict was entered in favor of Mr. Guevin, and Manchester appealed to the New Hampshire Supreme Court.
