Facts
Ronald Handeland (plaintiff) had a minor son, Vincent. Vincent was riding a motorcycle when he approached an intersection and collided with a car operated by Jane Eileen Brown (defendant). Vincent was injured, and Handeland brought suit for the loss of companionship and service of his son. The trial court found in favor of Brown, holding in part that Handeland was not entitled to recover because his son was contributorily negligent. Handeland appealed.
