Facts
Henderson (defendant) was arraigned on criminal charges in federal court. Due to delays in the disposition of a motion filed by Henderson, his trial did not take place until more than two years after his arraignment. Henderson petitioned the United States Supreme Court to determine whether his right to a speedy trial had been violated by delays that were not reasonably necessary and whether the trial court erred in its application of certain provisions of the federal Speedy Trial Act.
