Facts
Jerrell (defendant) was a minor who was not permitted a lawyer or his parents while interrogated by police officers. The State of Wisconsin (plaintiff) charged Jerrell and filed a case in juvenile court. Jerrell appealed his conviction to the appellate court and to the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
