In the Matter of Applications of the United States of America for Orders (1) Authorizing the Use of Pen Registers and Trap and Trace Devices and (2) Authorizing Release of Subscriber Information
United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York
515 F. Supp. 2d 325 (2007)
- Written by Sharon Feldman, JD
Facts
The government (plaintiff) made an application for the installation and use of a pen register to obtain access to all dialed digits, including post-cut-through dialed digits (PCTDD)—numbers dialed from a telephone after the call is initially set up—even if those digits contained the contents of a telephone communication. The court granted the application but denied access to PCTDD. The government requested reconsideration. The court agreed to reconsider the partial denial.
