The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) (plaintiff) instituted cease-and-desist proceedings against JPMorgan Chase & Company (JPMorgan) (defendant). In July 2012, JPMorgan announced that it would be reissuing its quarterly financial reports for the first quarter of 2012. JPMorgan also disclosed that it found that it had insufficient internal controls over its financial reporting.
