Facts
Michael Jayne (plaintiff) was a state prisoner. Jayne sued Sprint PCS, arguing that it had violated the Stored Communications Act when it gave Jayne’s cell phone records and GPS location to police. The police had requested the information from Sprint because the police believed Jayne had kidnapped a person for ransom. Sprint moved to dismiss.
