Facts
Kearsarge Computer, Inc. (Kearsarge) (plaintiff), signed a one-year contract to provide data-processing services for Acme Staple Company, Inc. (Acme) (defendant). Approximately seven months into the contract, Acme terminated the contract due to Kearsarge’s unsatisfactory performance. Acme spent $837.75 fixing Kearsarge’s errors. After the termination, Kearsarge secured new, alternative business. Kearsarge sued Acme for breach of contract. A master ruled in favor of Kearsarge and awarded it $12,313.22, the full balance of the contract price. The trial court affirmed. Acme appealed.
