Facts
Willard Keene (plaintiff) sued his former employer, Sears, Roebuck & Company (Sears) (defendant) for wrongful termination. Keene claimed that Sears terminated his employment for improperly giving customers discounts prior to the official start of a sale. Keene sought to introduce evidence of his good character through witnesses giving testimony on his good reputation. Sears filed a motion in limine to exclude this evidence.
