Facts
Rosa LaRue took a job with Kalex Construction and Development, Inc. According to LaRue, she and Kalex verbally agreed that if LaRue worked for Kalex for three years, Kalex would grant her a 25-percent ownership interest in the company. Kalex fired LaRue after she had worked for the company for more than three years, and LaRue sued to enforce the verbal agreement. The trial court granted summary judgment to Kalex, reasoning that LaRue’s claim was barred by the statute of frauds. LaRue appealed.
