United States District Court for the District of Connecticut
455 F. Supp. 630 (1977)
- Written by Elizabeth Yingling, JD
Facts
Ralph Louring (plaintiff), a Connecticut resident, filed a garnishment action against Kuwait Boulder Shipping Company (Kuwait Boulder) (defendant), a Kuwait company, alleging that Kuwait Boulder owed Louring money. In order to establish jurisdiction over Kuwait Boulder, Louring sought to garnish a debt that Boulder Shipping Company (Boulder Shipping), a Connecticut company, owed to Kuwait Boulder. Deposition testimony established that Kuwait Boulder’s chief executive officer had been to Boulder Shipping’s offices in Connecticut on several occasions and that Boulder Shipping was an agent of Kuwait Boulder. Kuwait Boulder moved to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction.
