Facts
Mrs. Ben-Yehoshua (plaintiff) and Mr. Shimshon Ben-Yehoshua (defendant) married and lived in Israel from 1962–1975. In 1975, Mrs. Ben-Yehoshua, a United States citizen, came to California with the couple's children to visit her family and subsequently remained in California and filed for divorce, custody, property, and support. The California trial court entered a decree that awarded to Mrs. Ben-Yehoshua custody of the couple's children and an undivided one-half interest in two parcels of real property located in Israel. Mr. Ben-Yehoshua appealed the trial court's decree as to the property located in Israel.
