McAbee v. Chapman
Kentucky Supreme Court
504 S.W.3d 18 (2016)

- Written by Sean Carroll, JD
Facts
Kathy McAbee requested that Darren Chapman’s expert witnesses be sequestered pursuant to Kentucky Rule of Evidence 615 (Rule 615). Chapman opposed the request, asking the court to apply the exception to the rule for essential witnesses. Chapman stated that the witnesses’ being in the courtroom to hear testimony would be more helpful than their having to read other witnesses’ testimony.
