Facts
Joyce McDougall (plaintiff) watched Charlot Lamm’s (defendant) dog kill her dog. McDougall, who had a very close emotional relationship with her dog, brought suit against Lamm for the emotional distress the event caused her. Lamm filed a motion for summary judgment. The trial court granted the motion, and the appellate court affirmed. McDougall appealed.
