Facts
The Georgia statute of limitations was pleaded in defense to an action on a South Carolina judgment in Georgia. The Georgia statute imposed a shorter limitations period for foreign judgments than for domestic judgments. The case made its way to the Court on a certificate of division of opinion between the judges of the Sixth Circuit.
